Ships are the only way to move goods between estates and towns. To supply a producer on another estate, load goods from the source estate's Harbour Storage, sail with a Captain on board, and unload them into the destination estate's Harbour Storage. Workers can carry the goods to the producer if it has a road connection to that storage. The higher the distance, the more damage the ship will take.
Traveling between your home town and your estate does not take any damage as your captain knows the area and the distance is very short.
Your captain and other workers can repair the ship while they are on board. Using “Unload All” removes everything from the ship, including workers repairing it; placing them back on board starts the repair process over. To avoid interrupting repairs, unload cargo individually.
The ship can be used to fight pirates or in endgame the Royal Fleet.
