In the research tree, you convert your hard-earned research points into new technologies that you need to keep up with the competition.
The research tree is essentially divided into six categories:
Ship
Everything related to your ship, both for combat and for trade. Some technologies additionally require a certain level of the shipyard before they can be researched.
Construction and Transport
Here you’ll find new technologies that speed up building construction and allow your workers to carry more goods.
Trade
Everything that speeds up selling goods to the town.
Production
Technologies that improve all of your production buildings.
Buildings
In addition, each production building has its own individual research tree. Some technologies apply only to a single building, while others apply to several. These only need to be researched once and can then be used in multiple buildings.
Production buildings
In addition to technologies in the research tree, new production buildings themselves must also be researched.
