Here are a few points you should keep in mind at the start of your Caribbean adventure:
Choose professions wisely:
Make sure to hire workers who match your production buildings. Suitable workers can produce goods significantly faster. Secondary worker traits (marked by a star) are strong.
Keep an eye on the town’s demand:
Take a close look at which goods the town needs and how well each demand is currently covered. Try to produce goods that are in short supply—this will allow you to achieve much higher prices.
Together you are strong:
Join a guild. Especially when it comes to research in the guild laboratory, a good guild is worth its weight in gold—or rather, research points. The more players participate, the faster all guild members earn their research points.
Keep distances short:
On your estate, it’s very important to keep the distances between your buildings and the warehouse—as well as between raw material buildings and processing buildings—as short as possible, so your workers have more time for producing goods. As distances grow longer, your workers’ carrying capacity and the size of the output storage become extremely important, as they reduce how often workers need to walk.
You need a salesman:
At the beginning, there’s still a fairly high chance to choose a salesman when the town levels up. Take it! Later on, they become rare, and fast selling is extremely important.
Please your villagers: Sell the goods demanded by the villagers to the town so it can grow and you can gain new workers.
Division of labor is important:
You don’t need to produce all goods yourself. Specialize in a few goods and let your fellow players handle the rest. You can then sell your surplus goods on the wholesale market and buy the goods you’re missing.
Flexibility is key:
Switch workers around often, depending on your demands. No need just to nail them in the estate. Academy classes, workers to upgrade town buildings, guild library are always a great catch to react.
