Harassment, Hate Speech & Player Safety

Learn what counts as harassment or hate speech in Port Liberty, how player safety is protected, and what to do if you experience abusive behavior.

Port Liberty is a competitive game, but everyone deserves to play in a respectful and safe environment.
Harassment, hate speech, and abusive behavior are not tolerated in any official Port Liberty communication spaces.

What is considered harassment or abusive behavior?

The following behaviors are not allowed in chats, in-game messages, profiles, forums, usernames, alliance names, or any other official communication areas:

  • Insults, vilification, or personal attacks

  • Threats or intimidation

  • Repeated spam or messages intended to provoke or harass

  • Public accusations or “naming and shaming” of other players

  • Slander or disrespectful speech directed at players or staff

  • Using insulting or offensive abbreviations

Intent, tone, and repetition may be taken into account when evaluating behavior.

Hate speech and discriminatory content

Any direct or indirect messages or content targeting individuals or groups based on religion, gender, race, or similar characteristics are strictly prohibited.

This applies regardless of:

  • Whether the targeted player is present in the game world

  • Whether the content is framed as a joke

  • Whether the message is sent publicly or privately

Impersonation and misleading behavior

To protect player safety and trust, the following is prohibited:

  • Impersonating Travian Games or Port Liberty staff

  • Imitating official institutions or roles

  • Using names or content that falsely suggest official status

Such behavior may result in immediate action.

Privacy and personal information

To protect all players:

  • Sharing private or personal information about others is prohibited

  • Publishing private in-game messages, emails, or chat logs without consent of all involved parties is not allowed

  • Attempts to pressure others into sharing personal data or account access are forbidden

Respectful conflict and competition

Disagreements, rivalries, and competitive conflicts are part of Port Liberty.
However, they must remain within the boundaries of respectful communication.

Behavior that intentionally escalates conflicts into harassment or abuse may be sanctioned even if it occurs during competitive gameplay.

What happens if these rules are violated?

Depending on severity and frequency, violations may result in:

  • Warnings

  • Chat or communication restrictions

  • Temporary suspensions

  • Permanent bans

No compensation is provided for penalties or restrictions.

How to protect yourself and report issues

If you experience harassment or abusive behavior:

  • Do not engage or escalate the situation

  • Report the behavior via the official report function

For details, see:
How do I report a player in Port Liberty?

Not sure if something crosses the line?

If you are unsure whether a message or behavior is acceptable:

  • Assume it is not

  • Keep communication respectful

  • When in doubt, step away or contact Support

Player safety is a shared responsibility, and all players are expected to contribute to a respectful and secure gaming environment.
